Tourmalinated Quartz
Tourmalinated Quartz is primarily found in Brazil and very limited areas within the United States. It is formed when black tourmaline is combined with quartz under extreme heat and pressure beneath the Earth's surface. As the minerals are cooled, they separate. Tourmaline fragments that are unable to escape the quartz during the cooling process become trapped forming very unique needle-like structures within the transparent quartz stone. The resulting gemstone is known as Tourmalinated Quartz, known for its intriguing appearance as a true natural work of art.
