Kambaba Rhyolite

Kambaba Rhyolite is a rare stone formed from blue-green algae found exclusively in and around the waters of Madagascar and South Africa. This algae represents some of the earliest forms of life on Earth as it was alive billions of years ago and has been fossilized within the sand in and around these waters. Over time, the fossilized algae layers combine with sedimentary particles forming unique mound-like structures. These structures harden into rocks with distinct swirls of green surrounding black orbs. Kambaba Rhyolite serves as a link to the earliest forms of life on Earth making them a true natural wonder.
