Eagle Eye
Eagle Eye is a very rare form of Tiger Eye found primarily in South Africa and Thailand. It forms when reflective fibers known as crocidolite permeate cracks within quartz stone. As the stone is heated and pressurized beneath the Earth's surface, it continually cracks and seals allowing more fibers to enter. If oxygen is present during this process, the iron within the crocidolite fibers oxidizes into a brownish color creating the very common Tiger Eye stone. In rare cases in which oxygen is not present, the stone will remain gray resulting in Eagle Eye.
